Looking for a welcoming B&B in Toggenburg for an overnight stay, a peaceful weekend or a few days of hiking? At our small bed and breakfast in Bächli-Hemberg, you will be our only overnight guest. A spacious double room, a newly renovated private bathroom and an optional breakfast featuring high-quality local produce await you.

Surrounded by the gentle hills of Lower Toggenburg, our B&B is particularly well suited to hikers, cyclists and e-bikers, as well as anyone who appreciates peace, nature and personal hospitality. Our two Japanese Akitas, Betty and Sumiko, share our home and make the stay even more memorable for many of our guests.

    Bedroom

    The spacious bedroom with its high ceiling features a comfortable double bed (140 x 200 cm), a beautifully painted traditional Swiss farmhouse wardrobe, and a cosy seating area.

    The window is fitted with a mosquito screen, and a portable fan is available for warmer summer days and nights.

    After a day exploring the Toggenburg region or enjoying your hiking holidays, unwind on our garden lounge or enjoy dinner at one of the rural restaurants nearby.

    Your Newly Renovated Private Bathroom

    Just a few steps from the bedroom, you'll find your private guest bathroom, newly renovated in March 2026 and reserved exclusively for your use throughout your stay.

    Featuring a spacious walk-in shower with an additional rainfall showerhead, a modern vanity, and dimmable lighting, the bathroom offers a touch of spa-like comfort, whether you're starting your day or winding down in the evening.

    For added convenience, a separate toilet and washbasin are located right next to the bedroom.

    *The Old New Year's Eve celebrations take place annually on 13 January in the Appenzell and Toggenburg regions - except when the 13th January falls on a sunday, then it will all happen on the 12th, so the high season charge applies to the night from the 11th to the 12th january.

Frequent Questions regarding our B&B in Bächli-Hemberg

Is the bathroom exclusively for guests?

Yes. You will be our only overnight guests and will have exclusive use of both the newly renovated shower room and the guest toilet. The shower room is located one floor below the bedroom, while the toilet with washbasin is directly next to your room.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

You can book your stay with or without breakfast. If you choose the breakfast option, we will serve you a generous breakfast featuring locally sourced meats and cheeses, homemade jam, fruit, muesli, and coffee or tea.

Can we book for just one night?

Yes. Our B&B is also suitable for a single overnight stay, a weekend break or a few relaxing days in Toggenburg.

When is the B&B available?

From July to September, the B&B is open throughout the week. During the rest of the year, the room is generally available from Thursday evening to Sunday morning. If you would like to stay on other days, please contact us directly to enquire about availability.

Are dogs or other pets allowed?

No. Our two Japanese Akitas, Betty and Sumiko, live with us in the house. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate any additional pets at the B&B.

Is parking available at the B&B?

Yes. A free outdoor parking space is available on the private access road immediately next to the house.

Is the B&B a good base for hiking?

Yes. A variety of walking and hiking trails through the rolling countryside of Lower Toggenburg begin around Bächli and Hemberg. Numerous attractions in Toggenburg and Eastern Switzerland are also within easy reach.

Are there restaurants and shops nearby?

The village has a small shop and two restaurants. Restaurant Rössli is open from Tuesday to Saturday and usually serves cold dishes only. Restaurant Frohwies is open from Friday to Monday and specialises in meat from its own farm. The village shop is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Further dining options are available in Hemberg, including a bakery with a restaurant that is also open on Sunday mornings. Food delivery services are very limited in this area.
